Note:    Each 4-H member must complete his or her own registration form.  DO NOT put whole family on one form.  Market Goat Forms MUST be turned in at tagging.  All other forms must be turned in by June 1st.  It is very important to be accurate and to complete ALL Information listed below.

 Instructions:

One complete form for each 4 H member needs to be filled out.

Section I     Each 4 H member is to complete Section I in its entirety.

Section II    You must show a dairy goat in the dairy show in order to do dairy showmanship and a pygmy goat in 

                     the pygmy show in order to do pygmy showmanship. You will also be able to sign up the day of the show 

                     for this class only.

Section III   Check the Fair Book or the Club Web site at www.sjc4hgoatclub.org for Class and Section Information

Class:  32    Nubian Type Does.  If you have a goat that is not a full breed it will need to have the characteristics      

                      of  a Nubian to be in this class.  If it is a Boer mix it will need to go into the Boer Classes.

Class:  33    Swiss Type Does and follows the same guideline as the Nubian Type Doe.

Class:  34    Market Goats can be male or female but does cannot show in the breeding class if they are showing         

                      as a market goat. All Market Goats must be brought to ID Day. They will be registered on that day           

                      and  no additions will be allowed.

Class:  35    Harness Goats are Cart Goats    

Class:  36    All Pygmy Goats are in this class whether they are Male or Female.     

Class:  38    Boer Does can be Percent or Full Breed            

Section         Is determined by the Age of the Goat on the day of the show.  Pygmy Sections are also determined   

                      on the Sex of the Goat

Breed:          You will need to complete the Breed of Goat in order for it to be placed correctly

                       If it is a Cross Breed Goat you need to list both Breeds. (Ex: Nubian/Boer Cross) 

Scrapies:     You must have a Scrapies Tag in all Goats (Except Wethers under 18 months) 

                      The Scrapies Number should be put in by the breeder.

Indiv. ID:     Will be the number on the backside of the scrapies Tag,. If you have a Registered Goat the numbe must be 

                       tattooed or chipped into the goat. If you use a Chip you will need to supply the reader also. You will need 

                       to bring a copy of the registration papers when entering in. Market Goats will be Tagged on ID Day and 

                       their paperwork will be completed at that time

Goat DOB:  We need to know the Month, Day and Year of Birth to be sure they are in the correct Section.

Sex:               We need to know the Sex to be sure they are in the correct Class and Section.

Section IV    Mother & Daughter must each show in their respective classes and be show by the same member in order 

                  to show as a Mother & Daughter.

Registration Form must to signed by both the 4-H member and parent or guardian. If an animal is not on your property 

you will need to complete an application for livestock housing and have that into the 4H office no later then June 1.  

4-H animal exhibit may not be maintained at a PROFESSIONAL FITTERS FACILITIES.   

You will need to complete an affidavit for all animals showing in the market class. This will need to be notarized 

and handed in when entering your animal.  Make sure both sides of the form are completed in their entirety.  

Failure to complete an affidavit will result in disqualification and the imposition of appropriate penalties per county 

rules. 

 

All animals will need to be examined by a licensed veterinarian and have a health certificate completed within 90 days 

(30 days if animal is coming from outside of Indiana) of the show.
