The Harness Goat project can be a multi-year project. The first year of the project it is suggested that a 4 H'er take a kid in the Harness Goat Class. However, it is up to the 4-H'er to determine in what class to place his animal. The third and succeeding years, the wether will be in the Senior Harness Class.

Goat must be halter broken and led with either one or two lead straps. Animal should respond to commands to stop, go, and back. 4-H'er may use a doe or wether. (Ribbon Only) |
| Section 2 2ND YEAR HARNESS GOAT |
Goat will be harnessed and pull an empty cart. The animals should respond to voice commands of stop, go, back, left and right. (Ribbon Only) |
| Section 3 SENIOR HARNESS GOAT |
Goat will be harnessed and pull the exhibitor in the cart. The animal must respond to commands of stop, go, back, left, and right while pulling the cart through an obstacle course. (Ribbon Only) |

Good grooming is important in all classes. Judging will be done as follows by the point system:

| Appearance of exhibitor | 20 points | |
| Appearance of cart and harness | 20 points | |
| Performance of animal in show ring (Following commands) | 40 points |
The Health Requirements and Goat Club Rules will apply to the Harness Goat. Any wether signed up for Harness Class will not be allowed to show as a market Animal. Project books are available.
