St. Joseph County Dairy/Boer Goat Show

CLASS 31 -SHOWMANSHIP CLASSES:
A 4-H member who has won showmanship honors in one class of goats will not be eligible to compete for the same honor until the third year after the original honor was won (as stated in the general rules of the Fair Book). Showmanship classes will begin with Senior Showmanship, Pygmy and Dairy Showmanship. Senior Pygmy and Senior Dairy will compete for round robin.
Senior Showmanship Grade 9 through 12
(Previous winners of the Junior Class move to Senior Class.)
Junior Showmanship Grade 6 through 8
Beginner Showmanship Grade 3 through 5
(Grade is determined by grade in school during the school year)
CLASS 32 - DAIRY NUBIAN TYPE
Section 1 Junior Doe Kid born April 1, to May 15, of current year.
Section 2 Intermediate Doe Kid born March 1, to March 31, of current year.
Section 3 Senior Doe born January 1, to February 29, of current year.
Section 4 Junior Yearling born July 30, to December 31 of current year
Section 5 Senior Yearling Doe must be under 2 years of age as of July 30,of current year. (never fresh)
Section 6 Champion Junior Doe and Reserve Champion Junior Doe open to first and second place winners in Sections 1-5.
Section 8 Doe milking one (1) year and under two (2) years.
Section 9 Doe milking two (2) years and under three (3) years.
Section 10 Doe milking three (3) years and under five (5) years.
Section 11 Doe milking five (5) years and over.
Section 12 Champion Senior Doe and Reserve Champion Senior Doe open to first and second place winners in Section 8-11
CLASS 33 - DAIRY SWISS TYPE
Section 1-6 Same as Dairy Nubian Type
Section 7 Grand Champion Junior Doe and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doe, selected from Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Nubian Doe and Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Swiss Doe (Section 6).
Section 8-12 Same as Dairy Nubian Type
Section 13 Grand Champion Senior Doe and Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe, selected from Champion and Reserve Champion Senior Nubian Doe and Champion and Reserve Champion Senior Swiss Doe (Section 12)
CLASS 38 - BOER TYPE
Section 1 0-6 month Junior Boer Doe
Section 2 Over 6-12 month Senior Boer Doe
Section 3 Over 12-18 month Junior Yearling Doe
Section 4 Over 18-24 month Un-freshened Senior Yearling Doe
Section 5 Champion Junior Boer Doe
Section 6 Reserved Champion Junior Boer Doe (Selected from 1st & 2nd place winners in Sections 1-4)
Section 7 Senior Doe Freshened 24-36 months
Section 8 Senior Doe Freshened Over 36-48 months
Section 9 Senior Doe Freshened 48 months and over
Section 10 Champion Senior Boer Doe
Section 11 Reserve Champion Senior Boer Doe (Selected from 1st & 2nd place winners in Section 7-9)
Section 12 Grand Champion Boer Doe and Reserved Grand Champion Boer Doe  (Selected from Champions and Reserve Champions Junior Boer Kid and Senior Boer Doe)
Section 13 Mother & Daughter  (Mother & Daughter need to be shown in their respective classes. Daughter can be freshened or un-freshened.    (Ribbon Only)
No Bucks will be allowed to show at the County Fair and all Goats must be disbudded or dehorned.
CLASS 37 - MOTHER AND DAUGHTER
Mother and Daughter need to be shown in their respective classes. Daughter can either be dry or milking.

CLASS 34 MARKET GOAT
(Affidavit must be completed by each 4H member and turned in at check-in)
Section 14 Market Goat - Lightweight - 50 lbs. and under
Section 15 Champion Lightweight Market Goat and Reserve Champion Lightweight Market Goat.
Section 16 Market Goat - Intermediate weight - 5l lbs. to 75 lbs.
Section 17 Champion Intermediate weight Market Goat and Reserve Champion Intermediate weight Market Goat.
Section 18 Market Goat - Heavyweight - 76 lbs. and over.
Section 19 Champion Heavyweight Market Goat and Reserve Champion Heavyweight Market Goat.
Section 20 Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat, selected from Champion and Reserve Champion Lightweight, Intermediate weight, and Heavyweight.
